ICON support the GB Paralympic Team in Athens 2004 Games

ICON is delighted to help sponsor the British Team to take part in the Paralympic Games in Athens.
The team achieved fantastic results in the 2004 games, coming second in the medal table with 35 Gold, 30 Silver and 29 Bronze Medals. Competition was fiercer than ever before, with more nations and more athletes competing and many World Records set.
Unbelievable performances were witnessed involving athletes from around the world: Kevin Plowman of GB commenting on his win said: “Winning is what I came here to do. It’s a dream to have won gold”, and Stephen Miller added “I am delighted with the world record, but it’s a bonus. My main aim was gold”.
Achieving extraordinary feats in a pressurised environment is what success is all about, in business and in sport. Our congratulations to all the athletes.
The games covered archery, athletics, cycling, fencing, sailing, shooting, swimming, rugby, tennis to name but a few.
In the next four years to the Beijing Paralympics, UK sport has committed £98 million of Lottery investment to cement Britain’s place amongst the top sporting nations in the world, and ICON are very proud to be a part of the financial support for our best athletes.
