ICON secures internet services company £10m funding

September 2000

Bristol-based Solsoft, a specialist in the provision and maintenance of websites and internet strategies for SMEs, has raised £10m of development capital with an immediate facility of £400,000 from Bibby Commercial Finance. The balance of the funding will be drawn down incrementally. Caroline Langron co-ordinated the investment on behalf of Bibby, which acquired a small minority equity stake in Solsoft. The funding round has a unique, bespoke structure designed and negotiated by ICON.

Solsoft develops e-commerce solutions for companies dealing in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer sectors. The company began trading in January 2000 and employs over 50 people, a number expected to increase rapidly over the next year. In its first year, the company is expected to turnover in the region of £5m.
