Kevin Gate
Lead Adviser (ex MBO/MBI Entrepreneur)
Kevin joined ICON in 1999 and has over 25 years hands-on experience of running companies from start up to pre-IPO. Having raised VC funding and negotiated exits for his own companies, he brings extensive skills in establishing and developing successful sales in new markets, new channels for products and services and financial engineering. He has real practical in-depth skill and an understanding from the entrepreneurs' perspective.
At ICON he specialises in all types of fund raisings, acquisitions, buy-outs and reconstructions as well as providing entrepreneurs and management teams advice on financial analysis and strategic decision-making. Most recently he has been acting as a management consultant and interim Finance Director for one of ICON's portfolio clients, Smartronics a leading software company that has designed and implemented an intelligent sensor technology. Kevin has been at the forefront of the growth in technology and major deals include MBO of Black Cactus from games software giant Eidos, disposal of handheld software business to NCP and the buyout of a software company specialising in medical contracts from a major UK Plc.
