Brian Parker
Co Founder & Head of M&A (ex Credit Lyonnais, KPMG)
Brian is a co-founder of ICON and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions. He specialises in advising shareholders of technology companies on their exit strategy. He has over 20 years experience in investment banking, mergers, acquisitions and disposals. Having worked both as principal and adviser he has a unique experience as both a buyer of, and an adviser to, high growth companies in USA, France, Hong Kong, China and the UK.
At ICON he has been responsible for the sale of Dublin based Insight Test Services (software testing) to Sogeti, Anvil Software (financial software) to US private equity backed ION Trading, TCO (software) to US listed CACI, Projectlink (employee motivation) to Grass Roots, Forvus (data management) to RM Plc, the sale of 3i investments Cleartone Telecoms (TETRA wireless) to an MBI team and Synamic (wireless software) to Reuters/Aether Systems, as well as the sale of MCA (web development), HelpDesk Support Services (outsourcing) and CenturyCom (network security).
Prior to working at ICON Brian spent eight years in Hong Kong, latterly as Head of Equity Research for the No1 ranked Investment Bank at the time - Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia. Before that he worked for two UK PLCs as Head of Mergers and Acquisitions and completed over 15 acquisitions in that period. Brian is a qualified Chartered Accountant, he worked for KPMG in London where he had his first taste of Corporate Finance work carrying out investigations and due diligence for a range of transactions.
Brian has a degree in Accountancy and Finance from Kent University, is married with one son and lives outside London. He loves sports, particularly playing golf and squash. He is a kids football coach on Saturdays and runs marathons occasionally. He supports Crystal Palace.
